We are preparing our yard for the house construction. This included 200+ semi loads of clay spread out with a Cat.
Well in day three the Cat's water pump failed and the semis couldn't be stopped, so I used the mighty BX to trim up the sides and front of each drop so they could apck then side by side as tight as possible. Normally when I am using the FEL I have a weight ballast box on, but today I also needed to use the 72" back blade. Well lifting a buckeet full of clay got pretty scary without the balast box on. At one ippy point I noticed the tires, with a fully load, seem low. So I peeledmover to the shop and cheecked the pressure, 24 lbs., just what was called for. Well more afraid of tipping then blowing a tire, I pummped them up to 30 pounds and went back to work.
This small change made as much a stability improvement as he ballast box.
IMHO anyone with a FEL should be running 30 lbs in their BX front tires.
What do you think?
PS.
With my turf tires on in the damp clay, it was real stinky, stinky enough to plug the treads, I was still able to stall the drive in low range.
