Just returned from putting the down payment on a new TN75DA w/ 32LC FEL. Hoping for delivery today must most likely Monday. At least I have some reading to keep me busy (manuals) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Any suggestion on a radio. Is the AudioVox from New Holland a shaft model? AndyMA, you mentioned a Pioneer. Which model? Has it performed well?

I put a Pioneer in my tractor last summer. A unit with super tuner III is the best baseline. $99-119 Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, spending more just gets more features. I put the most money into speakers as thats where the noticeable differences are.

I have one of those radios from TSC, a fender mount one, on my 7610s. It has a headphone jack and a single ?4" speaker, Radio is a tad cheap looking.. but it works. Sure beats no tunes.

I'll add that I usually wear a pair of those big muff style headphones.. lets me run the radio at low volume AND keeps the tractor noise out.

Polo I sent this to you as a reply to you rPM also but am posting it here for general info.

Yes, I installed a Pioneer Supertuner III model about 2 1/2 years ago and it has been working fine. I'm not sure of the model but it was about $300 at Best Buy. The only thing I can say it that it is too fancy a radio for the tractor. It's hard to see half the controls let alone use them due to the location of the radio. Years ago when we were designing the Bose car stereo system, we evaluated all our competitors and the Supertuner was by far the best tuner out there. Installation was a snap I just bought the wiring pig tail kit from New Holland, clipped it off and spliced it to the Pioneer harness. For those of you that don't know the TN's come factory supplied with decent speakers, wiring harness, mounting plate and an antenna. I would suggest running with your antenna upside down if your in the woods at all. Doesn't seem to effect reception much but you won't break it off like I did. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif BTW The Pioneer has no problem playing CD's no matter what I'm doing with the tractor. Did you get my PM about a radio?

I use a setup of headphones that has a am/fm radio in it and it is the best attachment I have purchased for my tractor. It makes for a very nice and quiet enjoyable ride... I also have a radio on my tractor... but when things are cranked up and running it is hard to hear unless I crank it up .. and when I crank it up it is just another blasting sound... so the headphones really are nice to knock off the background sound and listen to some nice stereo music.

I have a headset that I use at my job. (corporate pilot) It's WAY overkill for noise cancellation for a modern jet... but it's nice to block out sound.

I had them use my same molds to make me a walkman set.

They are custom molded, and about 47db noise reduction. That, and a cheap walkman and you are in business.

I use them on my lawn tractor.. and can only hear a little blade hum.
