Not starting LS 3037C

New battery, just installed

Turn key to ACC tractor tries to crank, but for 2 seconds then off, no delay no lights, just tries to turnover and not start.

Turn to start, nothing....

Prior to new battery, with jumper cables same issue.

HELP!

Ignition switch????

I'm guessing you have an XR3037C gear model. My XR3037HC ign. switch has 3 position, OFF-Glow Plug-Start. (No ACC position). Key must be turned to glow plug position until light on dash goes out, then turn to start position to start. If the engine is cold it will not start if I try to start without warming the glow plugs. If the engine is warm from previous running glow plugs can be bypassed to start.

From your description you seem to have a different problem. Since you have no delay lights? I'd start by removing the battery negative lead (goes from battery minus to tractor frame / body ground) and clean both cable ends and frame / body area. Do the same for the Battery plus cable.

Then you'll need to check the main fuses (closest to the ECU above battery). Then check all remaining fuses.

The tractor should not try to crank on its own but only when ign. key is turned to start position. If your is trying to crank with key turned to GP position you may have a faulty start relay which is controlled by the CPU. The CPU gets a signal from the ign. switch.

The other possible answer could be critters have chewed into the wiring harness. How long has it been parked, when was last time it ran, when and why was a new battery installed.

Pop the hood and remove under dash panels and checked harnesses closely.

Not yet George, I live 60 miles from the farm, and work 100 miles in the oppo direction.
I tend to agree with where you are stating to look starting with the ignition and working towards the relay.

It was parked in NOV/DEC here in Alabama. Ran it a few times, last was in January, but needed a jump.

Have you checked the condition of you new battery? Unlikely, but it could be bad and it's easy to check the static voltage.

New battery is fine on voltage, bought at battery source and they checked prior to checkout
