Not seeing many used M serires

I have started looking to upgrade my ford 650 to something in the M4600 area and I am not finding too much. If I was looking for a B or L there are quite a few to pick from. Are people just hanging on the M and upgrading to hem from the B and L or are there just not that many M out there.

They did make an L4600, TractorData.com Kubota L4600 tractor information.
I've got an M4700, and so far (about 10 hours operating) it's a workhorse, and for 12K seems well worth it.

you maybe in an area where once people buy a tractor they keep it for years rather than trading it.i asked about used HSTs when i bought mine.an they said once people buy emm tghey keep emm from now own.

In our area there seem to be a lot of MX5100's that move through the dealers' lots, but I haven't seen many on the used market. Like "none" within 300-500 miles.

The older Kubotas will last forever and there isn't a whole lot of reason for selling them. I had an M4700 and did trade it in on an M5040 but only because I needed 4wd on these hills and the M4700 was only 2wd. Otherwise I would stil have it.

You might watch estate auction listings.

There are several M series listed for sale on the DFW CL. I know because I bought a M7040 HDC with 137 hrs on the tach from CL.

I am the same way. And with proper maintenance you are not likely to get to the point where they "can't run anymore".

I would hazard to guess that Kubota makes and sells 12-15 B or BX tractors for every M. Plus people hang onto them.

If it's lemon I'm making lemon aid!

Sure I don't have all the bells and whistles of an L, and I need a new seat, but in months of searching Craigslist, auctions, and dealerships for a tractor that met my needs I had about given up hope.
My absolute requirements were fairly simple:
UNDER $15,000 - per agreement with SWMBO
4WD
3PT capable of lifting 2,000 lbs
FEL

My preferences (not deal killers) were:
HST
Major brand (JD, Kubota, Kioti)

I had just about settled on an L4630 GST from Barlow's for $17K with the wrath of SWMBO for going $2,000 over budget when I stumbled across this auction. And I've got $3,000 left in the budget for attachments and a new seat. Well, $2,700 since I bought a set of Pallet Forks.

And I've a tractor with twice the 3PT lift capacity I needed.

So keep looking, the M's are out there, and they are strong tractors (but I still don't think you'll find an M4600 .

I would agree that you did very well for $12K, I would have grabbed that in a heartbeat. I have that same sweet 5 cyl engine and it is a smooth one. Starts immediately and runs all day only sipping fuel.

When I bought, the salesman and the owner both mentioned the M series wasn't a big seller for them but that mine was getting allot of attention on the lot while it sat waiting for me to take delivery.
