This is not real snow! See attached photo. It's called "lake effect snow" and it's been falling since Christmas Eve. Since it's not real snow I must have imagined being pulled out of the ditch this afternoon when I fell off the road. It sure felt real as I was burried up to my *** in the stuff. If it was the real stuff I would get out my 3 pt blower and try to find my driveway again...but...I guess that's just wishful thinking.

Looks great! A little envious here in the Chicagoland area, all we've gotten is a little dust /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. Hoping to get out and get a little seat time soon. Haven't had much snow since I bought the snow insurance policy last winter (6ft Loftness 3pt snow blower). All geared up and no snow to blow. Please send some of that white stuff our way. Have fun and be sure to post pics for some of our "snow challenged" friends /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

Rockford sounds familiar. Where abouts is it? We used to get lake effect snow down here in South Bend area, but only once or twice a year really bad anymore.

Looks beautiful. Wish we had more. Its been snowing for 4 days and we only have 4-5 inches on the ground. Just overcast and light flakes.

Rockford is just a little north of Grand Rapids. We are right on the edge of where the lake (Michigan) effect snow usually drops off. And some folks around here were worried we wouldn't have a white Christmas. Looks like a white new years and more. Another shot off the back deck...and it's still coming down. I picked up a bit of a cold or I'd be out there right now moving it around.

Ah yes....

I lived up the pike a bit from you in Cadillac, always enjoyed the lake effect snows. Plowing out with the Case 580D hoe, heater on and a cup of coffee....

We have just the ground covered out here in South Dakota now, and a lot of cold air on the way. Miss those Michigan winters....

We were up that way at the end of September. Beautiful fall colors and salmon fishing.

Yes, It\'s Real Snow

Funny, I grew up considering only lake effect snow to be "real snow". Anything else is usually just a few inches in the Buffalo, NY area.
