NorTrac 35xtd tracks

I am looking for anyone that has installed rubber tracks on a 35 XTD. it doesn't look like mt steel tracks are going to last very long. also I live next to a blacktop road and would like to cross it regularly. Any help would be appreciated. USA Pennsylvania. thanks Sam

I have not made the switch because I ordered my dozer with the rubber tracks. BUT, the only difference I have observed is that the track frame for rubber tracks has five carrier rollers per side instead of four, and I believe the track frames are the same length. I've had a track off before and it's a bit of a challenge to get it back on even with the tensioner fully retracted. In fact, I had to unbolt the tensioner and slide it back. FWIW, the steel tracks should give you at least 700 hours even under the worst conditions. You can also make a set of clamp-on rubber "tires" for the tracks to cross the road, or just lay down some wood planks/plywood.

Thanks for the information. my machine only has 25 hr.'s so I'm good for a long time. just thought I would maybe get rubber tracks now before they went completely unavailable.
Still not sure on where to purchase the rubber tracks. Circle G and Keno tractors said they no longer have support or Resorces. and track companies don't have a clue on size. thanks Sam

Yeah, if you tell them the tracks are for a Chinese dozer you're likely to hear crickets. Just give them length (lug count), width, and pitch. I'm not sure, but rubber tracks from Komatsu or Mitsubishi small dozers may fit. Also, Northern Tool MAY have some in stock. Since these are rebranded Yuchai dozers, you can contact Yuchai directly.
