Looking for your comments (good or bad) on Northern Tools log splitters. I'm considering their 37-ton unit. Any other recommendations would be appreciated. I'm trying to keep my cost to $1,800 or less. Thank you.

I bought a Northern Tool pto log splitter 4 years ago and use it to split around 4 cords a year. It's robust enough, if a little slow, and has so far not presented any major problems. The only fault I've found is that the piston shaft is a little prone to rust, although this can be prevented if I remember to withdraw the piston fully after use so it's not exposed to the elements.
