Kubota B7610
Hi

I live in northern Alberta on a small acreage. I own a Kubota B7610 HST with a front end loader, Land Pride rear 3pt hitch blade and a Land Pride rear 3pt hitch finishing mower.
I used to farm in Manitoba back in the 70s and 80s.

Temperatures are within 10 degrees either side of the freezing point. We have about an inch of snow. We are living near Fort McMurray and 30 miles north of us are the open pit tar sand mines and south of us are the SAGD oil wells (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage).
Real estate prices have dropped a bit, but a 1400 sq. ft., 2 story house sells for around $750,000.

Climate

Fort McMurray has a borderline humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification Dfb, just above a subarctic climate), with long, very cold winters and warm, short summers.

The town lies at a lower elevation than most other parts of Alberta, so under the right conditions, it can be a 'hot spot' for Alberta or even all of Canada (as in April 1980 when its daily mean temperature of 10 °C (50 °F) was unsurpassed by any other Canadian station).[12]

Temperatures average −18.8 °C (−1.8 °F) in winter, with the lowest recorded −50.6 °C (−59.1 °F) on February 1, 1947.

In July, temperatures average 16.8 °C (62.2 °F), with the highest recorded being 37.0 °C (98.6 °F) on August 10, 1991.[13]

Its average annual precipitation is 419 millimetres (16.5 in) and falls mainly in the summer months. Its average annual snowfall is 134 centimetres (53 in)[13] and appears within a range of 5 to 7 months.

Welcome to the board, from a little further south of you! :welcome:

You'll get used to the weather comments. Some folks just don't have an appreciation for snow. :confused3: Not sure why!

And don't worry about the Oilers comment. It comes from the place where they have just introduced lobster rolls, gourmet hot dogs, and new types of beer in an effort to try to get fans back to watch the Canuckleheads! :drink: Vancouver Canucks tickets still going cheap despite customer service rebrand - British Columbia - CBC News
