I am receiving the most agravating calls. It will ring, I pick up, then phone hangs up. I call the number on my caller ID 267-348-0160 and says not a good number.
I am on the state call list but was wondering who these people are. I will contact my state people this week, but, doesn't it make you mad?
I guess I could get caller ID everywhere, but, I don't have it in the garage.

I used to get a lot of those calls. We finally learned that it was a machine calling and programmed to hang up if anyone answered. It was looking for a machine to answer (fax, if I remember correctly).

Since it is registering a [no good] number on your caller ID this tip may not help, but what we added to our phone service is "blocked number rejection". If the calling number is blocked from caller ID, it won't even ring our phone. But, as I said, since they're using an invalid number that option may not help either.

When you figure out how to reach through the lines and grab that machine by the harddrive, please let the rest of us know!

I have privacy messanger on my phone, it only lets local callers threw that can read on caller Id only. If I want to recieve out of state calls, I have to call into this automated thing & type in all the numbers I would like to recieve calls from. Call your phone company & see if they have any special features offered like this. I pay $3 a month extra for it. The phone is alot more peaceful around here now since telemarketers can't get threw.

We have that feature as well and when folks with thier identity blocked got irritated by not being allowed to get through and voiced that to us, I calmly asked why would you block your identity and be upset when it is you calling us and not the other way around. I don't care if folks block their identity but I do care if we continued to allow them to call not knowing who they are. The thought of caller ID at first was a little annoying to me, now I would not have a phone without it.

I have the shop phone forwarded to the cell. Those machine calls drive me crazy. Since it's a business number I'm not elgible for the no call list.

I don't answer "blocked number", "no number", "800 numbers".

If someone or a machine is a solicitor and they leave a long message all you have to do is 7-7 and it's deleted. Saves you minutes and sabotages them too, two birds with one move.
