I know there are a lot of TBN'ers around the N TX area. Hopefully none of you were hit by last night's storm. Three killed in a small town about 10 miles north of me and MF1455v. Must have been a powerful tornado as news video showed at least one house stripped down to the bare concrete slab. All above the slab simply gone. Fortunately most of that area is rural and sparsely populated.
If anyone did suffer damage and there is anything I can help with, just let me know.

Nasty stuff, hate to see folks get hurt or killed, no warning sirens out there I heard.

The noon news said it was a Cat 3 tornado, and that the town of Westminster Tx did NOT have any sirens. Luckily, the area it hit was just north of the town itself, in a rural area, otherwise the death/injury toll would have been much worse.

Bill, I just got back home. I was in Freeport last night getting ready for a 52hr tuna trip in the gulf. Got one heck of a scare when I heard the news this morning. I couldn't get to the phone fast enough to call Barb. She said we got a little wind a one heck of a lighting show. We can see the Westminster water tower from our back door. This was close.

The same system was responsable for the tuna trip getting canceled. While driving back just missed a tornado warning storm in Brazoria County. Mikim, did you get any of this storm?

I would also like to offer a helping hand to any TBN'ers that suffered damage.

James

Yeah, I stood outside for quite a while watching it. Ch. 5 had continuous radar coverage on from 10 pm to about 11 pm. We watched until we knew it would pass by to the north. It was a very small isolated storm. The whole storm radar image was only about 5 miles across. But it had the most distinct hook echo I think I have ever seen. When I was outside, the cloud edge was directly overhead, dark threatening clouds north, clear starry sky south.
