I have many 5 gal plastic fuel containers. They all suck. I have a bit higher priced siphon I bought from Amazon, takes forever to move fuel. While on vacation last week I saw a couple of blue 5 gal plastic containers at a Thrift Store for $6.99 with a turn valve. I decided I'd buy one and try it for my diesel fuel. Pondered for a couple of days and before leaving Crossville, Tn I went back and bought the other one so now have two. Have filled both with fuel and emptied one while it was sitting on the hood of my L3901. Set it down on it's side and opened the vent and turned the opening valve. A couple minutes later the fuel was in my tractor and the can was empty with NO SPILLAGE!!!
I'm going to check to see if the emptying valve will fit my other cans.
Wal Mart and Amazon have the cans for $10.33 or/and the replacement valve for some what over $7.00. Another $3 gets the whole thing which seems to make the most sense to me. Reviews from people owning/using these cans and valves are not all that great. Looks like one has to be careful opening and closing them. There is a valve on top of the spigot which turn either way to open while straight forward has the contents contained securely.
My F and RTV has the fill hole on the side and no spout is needed with them but the L has it right on top of the hood so this seems made for the L.
