I finally found a source for Non-Ethanol gasoline. Now I am told that it burns too hot in air cooled engines.
Before Ethanol was added it wasn't an issue.

What do you guys say?

Well...
FWIW...
Lots of VW bugs on the road with air cooled engines ran with "old" non-ethanol gas...
Who told you that?

I buy and use non-ethanol gasoline in all my air cooled engines and have been for several years. No problems what so ever with my air cooled engines running in the hot Texas summer heat. I add Sta-bil to my gasoline containers before refilling them.

In the February 2014 edition of Hemmings Motor News columnist JIM HOWE (jimhowe@hemmings.com) answered a reader's question about "ethanol free" gasoline available at gas stations.

Mr. Howe contends that, in tests he has conducted, he has found that ethanol-free gas (does? / frequently? / sometimes?) CONTAINS ETHANOL. If true, I'm PO'd but not surprised. For more than 4 years my wife and I have paid an extra 30 - 40 cents per gallon to fuel everything we own with ethanol-free gas. Just for our car and trucks this is about 1500-2000 gallons of gas per year.

Is the ethanol in the non-ethanol gas by accident or intention? I wish this was checked and regulated by my state (New York) or county government. If it is a scam it is criminal.

Mr. Howe does provide instructions on how a consumer can conduct a pretty simple test to establish the presence of Ethanol in ethanol-free gas.

Dear lord. People have lost thier minds.

NO!!

Plain old Gasoline, with no ethanol in it...PURE Gasoline...the original stuff won't burn too hot for air cooled motors period.
Folks have been using real gas in air cooled motors for several months now...and shockingly there have been few problems. Talk is of flying machines using air cooled motors running non-ethanol gas someday, when we are trusted to play with such things.

It actually burns cooler, and produces 4-6% more energy, and in a carbed motor will run RICH compared to the corn contaminated garbage, until the carb is adjusted to compensate.

Whoever told you that it was, is not to be trusted around pointy things for thier own good.

Another point to remember. If the ethanol free gas shares a hose with the ethanol gas, it will probably have ethanol gas in the lines to start with. In the instance I have to use a pump with this setup, I will normally pump the first gallon into my vehicle then I will fill up my fuel cans. I use ethanol free gas with all my small engines.

Thank you Gents. You confirmed my suspicions.

Good Idea, I will start doing that. I have been using pure gas for some time now in my small engines, after damage to the fuel tubing from ethanol gas, plus the non ethanol gas should draw less moisture from the air.
