I recently started noticing a banging or snapping noise in my tractor. After listening for it I noticed it was happening when changing direction forward or backward and seemed to be in the back of the tractor.Naturally I started to think the worst. The tractor is an L3240 with 580 hours.I finally thought to check the lug nuts and found one rear wheel that was coming loose. All the bolts but one were loose and one was actually missing.I will have to get a new one tomorrow.I torqued all the wheels and the rest seemed to be all right. The lesson is I should have checked the bolts as part of regular maintenance but didn't.I like to think that I take good care of my tractor and this will now be something I do regularly.I am lucky I noticed it before something more serious happened.Just reminding other TBNers to check the wheel bolts if they don't already.
