I decided to take a chance and put 3 rows of sweet corn (Vision F1) into the ground today. The winter has been so mild and now we are in the 70's/80's for our 3rd week in a row with more to come.
These 3 rows were planted into lush green red winter wheat. After running the planter through, I sprayed roundup over the top of the rows in an 8" wide pass. Once the corn starts to come up, hopefully the taller wheat around the rows will prevent any future frost from hurting the corn.
Once frost fear is gone, I will finish off the rest of the wheat and leave a nice bio mat down to prevent weed growth.
