This sort of came up under another thread earlier today...that being the idea of a dealer throwing in a hat, or a jacket, or collectible toy-whatever, to the new buyer, as kind of a thank you. A handshake is great, a must, with the heart felt thank you. BUT, when you got a guy (or girl) that is BEAMING with excitement when he buys his first, or his next tractor, you mean to tell me that there's not $50 or a $100 bucks in the deal to throw back to the buyer a shirt, hat or jacket? The advertising alone is worth that much! Nope, I did not receive anything when I bought my first (and only) BX25 last year. I dropped 25K. I would never ask for either. Just a thought.

Funny thing, I never got any of that stuff with any ford, chevy, dodge, nissan or jeep I've bought over the years either.
When I bought my house I didn't get a coffee pot, toaster or even a welcome mat.

I have a Kubota hat, the second most expensive hat I have. Well, maybe not since this is my third Kubota and I only got one hat. I have a Land Pride hat that is fairly expensive too, now that I think about it. I have a few things around here with Land Pride written on them.

When I got my party barge I did get one of those bottle looking key chains that you are supposed to stuff your boat registration in so it stays dry.

I went into the local Kubota dealership this fall wearing a Deere hat that I got at Farm Days for taking a test drive (The tractor was ok, but the parking brake was ridiculous. it was the pull up style like you would see in a car but on the LH side and about 2" too short to comfortably pull on it). The owners son started kidding me about wearing a Deere hat and offered to trade it for a Kubota one, I said no, KT (my wife) would be upset if I traded a Deer hat for a Kubota. So, he gave me a Kubota hat. I was impressed and still wear it when I go in there.

I too am on the probably would not ask side of the fence. My wife on the other hand will jump that fence in a heart beat. When we bought our B2920, she came out of there with 5 hats (I got 2 of them). When we went back a month later and bought a Bush Hog mower, she didn't even have to ask the young sales guy, he knew he was out matched, and came away with a couple more plus a light with the UTV logo.

After recently purchasing an L3940, our local dealer equipped my family and me with several hats... sturdy orange and camouflage ones. I didn't realize he was being comparatively generous. Now I feel special.

I didn't ask but I did get a great beanie winter hat from Wallace when he delivered my tractor!!!

The sales rep brought up hats when I was negotiating the deal. How about 4? I chirped in. Ok says he. I now have 4 Kubota hats.
