Jinma LE284
I'm a new Jinma owner, and this is my first post, and thanks to this discussion group you have helped me more that you know.
Before I received my tractor I read all the posts, and had a great idea of what to look for when it came time to assemble.
I've had a few little problems along the way, and because of info found here, was always able to rectify the problem. This weekend after mounting my backhoe, I started my tractor and moved it out of the garage and let if idle for a few minutes. When I returned I noticed the oil idiot light on, and the oil pressure gauge at 0. Checked all the wires and could see no lose connections. That evening I reviewed all the posts I could find on the topic, and found a post from Jinmaman back in Nov.05 on a JM224 with no oil pressure. His turned out to be a failed oil pump, and I had visions that was what I would find. After reading the posts, I took off the OPSU and found that a few threads of teflon tape had worked their way into the tiny hole at the end of the fitting that threads into the pipe. Apparentlyy when they installed the unit they wrapped too much tape onto the threads and that is what caused the blockage. This happend after 10hrs on the meter. I took off the tape applied Loctite Pipe Sealant with Teflon, and it works good as new. Just wanted to share this in case someone has a simiilar problem.
Again, my sincere thanks to you core group who answer all our requests for help. You make this forum invaluable.
