Hi!

I posted a few days ago confused about the B-series Kubota models. I wanted to buy my husband a Kubota tractor for his birthday and was having difficulty figuring out the differences in Models B2710, B2910, and B7800.

Thanks to all of you that answered my post. I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to help me. I read everything carefully, went to the dealers, and asked lots of questions while there. Without your help, I wouldn't have done so well.

Today, I placed the order for Larry's tractor! I ordered a B7800 with R4 Industrial tires with a LA402 Loader 54" bucket. It is going to be here in seven to ten days. I dealt with a very nice salesman who worked with me on the price and I am happy with the deal we struck. I think it was a win-win for the both of us.

This is only the second time I have ever gone on a message board. The first time was a complete disaster and I was really apprehensive about trying one again. I am so glad now that I did write to this message board for advice. Everyone was so nice and friendly--completely the opposite experience from the other message board I had been on.

I am sure that I will be on here again asking for more great advice (and I won't spook again and delete my message) and look forward to hearing from all of you.

Thanks Again,
Bonnie

Larry is a lucky guy. I know he will enjoy the 7800 it appears to be an awsome tractor. I wish the two of you the best, enjoy and be safe./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Hi Bonnie,

Congratulations, the B7800 looks like a fine piece of equipment. Your husband is a lucky guy.

Once he gets his tractor, make sure he knows about and joins TBN as well. I don't know of any other husband and wife TBN members out there. Hey fellow TBN'ers, are there any?

Were you able to keep the tractor a surprise?

Glad to hear your dealer was so helpful. That really means a lot on a sale.

Take care,

Rick

Bonnie,

I missed you first post but read the thread...

Is this your husband's first "real" tractor? If so, please make sure he reads some safety stuff regarding tractors. Specifically, I would suggest learning the possible danger of high pressure hydraulic fluid, where a pin hole leak or high pressure spray could push fluid through the skin with bad results.

Or things we new tractor owners might never think of, like how a tractor can flip over backwards if the rear wheels are stuck and do not turn. Example would be if they were frozen to the ground...

Or the danger a PTO offers when it is turning....

Tractors are such good tools but different than other motorized vehicles that we [tractor novices like I was a short time ago and may still be.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif ] are most familiar with.

Along with what you can find here at TBN, there are also tractor safety sites on the web that offer much good info.

Happy tractoring to you and your husband. I am sure he will love that tractor. I love my B2910 which is the same thing with a couple extras...

Macher,

Thanks so much for the safety advice. I am going to look up as much about tractor safety as I can find. I will be using the tractor also to keep up with the yard while Larry is at work. We live in a eucalyptus grove on 2.5 acres and it is going to take raking with the tractor more than once a week to keep up with how messy the trees can get during certain times of the year.

BONNIE; welcome to the forum, never got to read your original post as u deleted it before i got to it, so now i know what your questions must have been, am sure your husband will love the 7800 everthing i have read about it seems to be positive. u are one GREAT LADY, and your husband should be very pleased with the tractor AND with you. if u are both new to TRACTORS AND EVEN IF U ARE NOT NEW, be sure to follow all safety rules. when you and LARRY feel more comfortable on this site u might want to give a idea of your use for the tractor and the type of land u will be working with.GOOD LUCK AND AGAIN WELCOME!! let us know how it goes

Hi Bonnie,
I was the same way when I bought my Kubota last year at this time. TBN helped a lot!
TBN is a wealth of knowledge that both you and your husband can have fun and learn a lot of really neat stuff about many different subjects. The people here are really nice.
You must visit the “attachments” section!
Have fun with your new Kubota and please be a contributor to these discussion forums. After all, you are now the owner of a very fine piece of equipment so let us know how it works for you.
Welcome!
