I have a tc29d. Was working great. shut it down for a bit to make some lunch and when i went out to start it, Nothing happens, It was like the battery wasn't even in the Tractor. The connections are clean, the battery is charged, The only fuses i saw and checked were under the hood toward the back. Any ideas as to what went on, What should we be looking for? Please help.
Thanks
Mike

4 out of 5 times it is going to be a bad connection somewhere. When you say those are clean, is that visual inspection? Or did you clean them? Often a thin barely visible white crusty material will form between the post and clamp and break that connection. That will need to be cleaned off. Also it could be the other end of one of the battery cables, where they connect to frame, engine, or starter.
Another possbility. Recently my son met us at a restuarant for dinner. When he tried to start his truck to leave, one click, then dead. We thought bad connection, but it turned out to be the battery suddenly shorted on the inside.
If your connections are all good, tight, and clean, pull the battery and take it to an auto parts store and let them check it. That will eliminate one question mark.

If I was to guess, I'd have to go with a ground problem. That's been my experience about 90% of the time when I had something "just go dead". Most "modern equipment" has seperate circuits for the starter and lighting. Look for something common to both. (i.e. ground cable)

I will double check the Battery, When I did go to start it, It did make a click and then that was it, No power no nothing. So maybe the battery is shorted. But is, If the PTO swith was on I would still have lights and dash lights wouldn't I?

Last fall I rented a TC something, 20 I think that did the same thing. The problem ended up being a blown fuse. About all I remember was the fuse wasn't in the fuse block but a separate fuse on the left hand side.

I have a TC25D and the only location for fuses is under the hood on the driver's right firewall. There's also a known problem with the fuse that controls the headlights and dash lights (third fuse from the top?) where if the battery is slightly low on voltage, it increases the amp draw which blows the 7.5 amp fuse. The solution is to install a circuit breaker (available at NAPA and other auto stores).

So, I'd double check that fuse.

Perhaps one of the interlocks has a problem or is stuck!!

My neighbor has a tc29 and it did the same thing to him and I believe he said it was a safety interlock that caused it.

He has had to call the dealer about 3 times or so for problems of this type.. This might help to locate your trouble.
