NH vs LS; Differences & Similarities Using LS XR4046HC as example

I understand that LS makes some of the models for NH. I was wondering how similar they are in fit / finish, quality, features, design, price, etc.

I heard it said on this site that LS is less expensive, and has better fit & finish. I don't know if NH offers a model that's the equivalent of LS's new XR4046HC, but if they do, how would they stack up against one another.

Trying to seperate fact from fiction. Can any of you veterans comment.

I haven't looked at an equivalent NH to the XR4046HC, but I did compare both an R4047H and a Boomer 50. They are the same machine, with different grill inserts, and headlights....no difference in fit/finish that I could tell. The LS models use LS loaders, and NH specs their own, which has less lift capacity and breakout force (can't recall if there was a difference in lift height). The LS came standard with two rear remotes, work light, trailer 7-pin connector, and the Boomer did not. The LS came standard with telescoping 3pt lift arms, and stabilizer bars, and I'm pretty sure the Boomer did as well.

I paid $21,500 for the LS, and the closest NH dealer was well north of $30K when I spec'd out the same machine as the R4047H....wasn't worth trying to negotiate a better price when you're talking a $10K difference.

As I recall, the LS warranty was better than the NH warranty, but I've forgotten any details about that. I sold my LS after 215 flawless hours...planning on something much larger, but I would definitely consider LS in the future.

Thanks for sharing some factual info. Noticed that you have a Massey. If I can ask, why didn't you buy an LS. Just curious.

I actually had my LS before the Massey. I was using the LS for mostly FEL work, and the Massey is pretty much a dedicated mowing tractor. Now I need to move some serious dirt, so I sold the LS and have been shopping for a full size backhoe to replace it. The only thing that I didn't like about the R4047H was the max lift height....another 10-12" would have made a difference for me when I was loading my neighbor's small dump truck, or 35yd rolloff dumpsters.
