I will soon be buying a utility tractor for around my farm. It's main uses will be Loader work, rotary cutter, snow removal, and building and maintaining trails in my woods. The loader has to be able lift 2500-2800 lbs. pallets of seed. I am a value shopper, I try to get the most value for my buck, not just a cheap price. Meaning I will spend more if I think I'm getting more. All of my large farm equipment is john deere, but when comparing the new holland tna to the 5020 series john deeres, I have a hard time justifying the price difference.

The models I am looking at are the TNA 70,75 and 5320,5420 both with power reverse trans,MFWD, and no cab. Is there somthing special about the deere that I am missing? I have noticed there are more tn owners than 5000 series owners on this board. I'm not too sure what that means, so if you have experience with any of these tractors let me know what you think.
Thanks for the help. Jay

I was looking in the same size utility last Jan.

Ended up buying a Zetor for $20K less than the big brands & haven't looked back. 150 hrs 10 mos. Might reconsider the open station, I plowd the snow in a T shirt @ -15 ambient outside a couple of weeks ago & cab gets you a passenger seat, best $275 tractor option out there!

The Deere has the best ergonomics & a cup holder.

Where are you in MN?

Zetor I am sure is a good tractor, but 20K difference in price? How much is that Deere and New Holland?

I can get a TN75A, no cab, power shuttle, mfwd,FEL,brand new for $31000. That was the dealers first quote, I might be able to do better. The only deeres I have found so far are a 2004 5320 400 Hrs. power reverser, mfwd, NO FEL, with a asking price of $27500. I also found a 2004 5420 demo, power reverser, mfwd, NO FEL, asking price of $33000. A loader would add $5000-$6000 to both.

I don't know of any Zetor dealers in my area. I will check them out if I can find one. I have other tractors with cabs, if the job calls for it, for this tractor it would just be in my way.

I live in north west minnesota, in the Red river valley.

I was given $45-47K cash quotes for Deere 5420 & NH, don't remember the exact model but sat in a NH about 200HP with a jump seat & decided that was a must have. My brother has 4 daughters under 12. Uncle age 70 has the most fun!

I'll be putting in hardwoods for veneer so high hp vs weight was not a primary consideration, but the Zetor 3pt will probably lift an entire 5420.

My local dealer is in Upsala, MN had a Zetor open station 6341 ~ 70hp gross MFWD with shuttle, 18.9x34's when I stopped in last week.

NOTE: this is his first web site new this week, no guarantees!

/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif At those prices! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Those tractors must have a lot more power, lifting ability, and better transmission to cost that much more than mine.

Good luck in your search, RedDog

This is why I came here, to get some new ideas. I just checked out both Zetor and Kioti's websites, both tractors offer a lot of bang for the buck. That is what I want, but finding a good dealer may be a problem where I'm at. If you know of any good dealers in the minnesota, north dakota area please let me know. Thanks for the input. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'll throw in my $.02 worth. I’m down to comparing the NH TN75A and the Kubota M8200, both open cab, 4WD. Prices I got had put them basically the same. For me, the NH had a better layout of the controls & 4 more gears, but the Kubota had 10 more PTO HP and slightly better lift capacity on the 3pt and FEL. I had settled on the M8200 till I talked to a local NH dealer at a farm show. He said that he is going to be getting a loaned out TN75A back in February that should have around 100hrs. He told me that he could knock off around $2000-2500 off the price and if I took the Woods loader that’s on it I might get another $500 off. Plus I’d have the full warranty to go with it. That is going to put it $2500-3000 less than the Kubota. That is going to be hard to say no to.

I did consider the JD ($2000-3000 more), Kioti ($2000-3000 more??????), & Zetor. I almost went with the Zetor ($3000-4000 less), but when I went to the Zetor website forum, there seemed to be lots of posts where little things were wrong. Also everything on Zetor is European speced (the FEL quick attach was one I didn’t like). I also looked into Massey Ferguson, but I didn’t think the “bang for the buck” was there.
