NH TC55D Blow By

I just rolled over 300 hours on my NH TC55D. At about 288 hours it started to smoke badly out the blow by tube. Any ideas???

Puberty! They all experiment with smokin' in puberty.:laughing:

No laughing matter I am sure, but it sounds like a broken piston ring to me. I'd either do a compression check or get it to someone who can. Still in warranty? Hope so. . . bummer if it isn't. There's no way an engine should do that at 300 hours, not even if you didn't change oil a single time.

I agree with Jim. It sounds like a broken ring. Ever use starting fluid to start it? If you overdose it, it can cause the ring to break. A compression check won't always reveal any drop in compression but it will continue to smoke.

No starting fluid of any kind, just normal lifting, dragging, & mowing.
