NH TC40D

After about a year of looking and renting I am ready to buy.

I got a quote for the following in the Dallas tx area.

TC40D: 17,140 (w/ag)
16la: 3,974
total: 21,114

BH 285 w/safety chains: 1,640

All of the dealers in this area were about the same. Most were higher with ag tires...
It looks like some of the similar quotes on this site were lower.
The sales person first started at 17,840 for the tractor but I told him that 2 weeks before he quoted me 17,140

Also , any input on Rhino vs. Bush Hog on the medium duty
cutter (up to 2 inch saplings...I have about 8 acres of them under the Pecan trees)

I use a Bush Hog 285 6' on my TC40D and it is a full load! That is a HEAVY cutter. It cuts great and have no problem with 1 inch stuff. Not tried any heavier cutting.

This hog can cut 2" stuff all day long, all week, all month... non-stop... intermittently up to 4"...Outstanding machine...

In Feb. of this year I bought a TC45D, R4s, 16LA, single remote, 50 hr svc, for $21,900 in Decatur. If you are interested, check out my post "Best Place to Buy" in the Buying Forum about McMaster NH in Decatur, TX. Even if you decide not to buy from them, any price they give you could be used as a bargaining tool. Was your quote from the NH dealer on So. Loop 12? I have a house in Grand Prairie, but I "live" in Wise Co. near Decatur. I like dealing with McMaster NH there, but it is out of the way for Dallas.

I saw your post about 2 weeks ago and emailed McMaster.
Mr. McMaster called me back and quoted me 17,3 for a TC40D with ag tires. He also went to this website for the first time...he likes it.
I got my quote from the Mckinney store, which is part of the Loop 12 store.
The Mckinney store is the closest but I didnt like how my rental was handled and I do not like the salesman. (not well informed)
21,900 for a TC45D is about 800 more which is normal but it
doesnt have the mid pto. I like the idea of using a belly mower
in the far future after I clear all the brush and just need to cut
the grass. Thanks

Hey Dan, I wasn't trying to talk you into a TC45D, but rather just give you a comparison price. I would, however, strongly suggest you get remote valve(s) (you can get up to 3) quoted with your new purchase because you can probably get a much better deal than later, after the sale. If you decide to add T-N-T, you will be glad you had the remotes installed. Also, you might check with G&G Tractor in Denton for a price. They are a small dealer, but conveniently located. As a matter of fact, we are really lucky here because we have so many choices within a 50 mi radius of the Metroplex./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Not real sure how to post without replying (this is my first time on), but does anyone know about pricing in the state of Michigan? I was quoted $23,325 for a TC40D Hydro, R4 Industrial tires with rim guard (loaded tires), 1 rear remote, the 16LA Loader with quick attach (skidloader brand) bucket (72") Heavy duty with cutting edge, wear edge installed and a third party pin on tooth bar. How does that sound for a price? Thanks

So far the cheapest I found a TC40D with industrials was for
16,250. Loader 16la was 3800 with h/d bucket (no quick attach) 20,050 combo. I have it on order from the factory and should be here 9/10. I opt'd for the larger of the ag tires
which surprizingly added 550 to the price. The tractor price was about 1,000 and the loader was about 150 dollars cheaper than all the other quotes I received.
