NH T4.75
Hi all,

I have a NH T4.75 that came with 2 rear remote valves from the factory. I would like to have a 3rd functional valve on the FEL to operate hydraulic SSQA attachments. I would also like to have an extra remote on the rear or the tractor for a 3-way hydraulic blade (angle/tilt/offset). Obviously the funds aren't going to be there to do both.

I'm looking for opinions on which would be a better option, with the thought of running hoses from front/back under the carriage to serve the other end that doesn't get the factory kit. If I put the 3rd valve in the rear, I would think about running hoses under the tractor to couplings in the front for the SSQA. If I do it the other way, with the 3rd valve for the FEL, I would think about running hoses under the tractor to the rear.

Am I missing anything? Obviously adding both options with factory kits would be a much better solution. From what I've been quoted, I could save around $1500 by running the hoses.

Thanks for any input!

My tractor does not have any remotes, when I wanted to add a grapple I was a little put off by the cost of a third function setup.
I ended up running an extra valve off the power beyond port, I have to move my hand from the FEL valve to the grapple valve, but the total cost was under $200.
In the future I plan on putting a Tee in the lines and adding a set of remotes in the back, to use them all I'd have to do is unhook the grapple cylinder.

So you get one valve + the cost of hoses and save $1500 ??

Just out of curiosity how much were you quoted for the 3rd function up front & how much for the additional (3rd) Rear Remote? Because it sounds like way too much.

I put a 3rd function up front AND added 2 rear Remotes for about $1600 total.

Have you considered a couple of diverters, one mounted up on the front of the loader to be used for a grapple or 4in 1 bucket and one on the rear to add a remote there? a couple of diverters and a few fittings and short hoses. Is the 4.75 rear remote a cast unit or a stacking valve? where longer bolts and a valve segment and control cables will do the job?

N2DFire - Here's what I was quoted by multiple dealerships: $1500 for a factory 3rd functional remote kit on the FEL, without labor. $1800 for the 3rd rear remote, without labor. I was figuring about $300 to run hoses and couplings, etc., from front to back, so $1800 total and save the $1800 for the rear remote addition.

It honestly blew my mind when they told me that price. My rear unit looks like a stacking type, where the new valve body would set on top and have an extra cable going to a hole that's already in my fender.

LouNY - My rear remote setup sure looks like a stacking valve, and as my last post indicated, I can't believe $1800 for the 3rd valve to stack on top and run a cable. That was just the kit price, and three different dealers gave me the same price. I haven't considered diverters, but I honestly don't understand these things like I should. I would benefit from a class on tractor hydraulic systems for sure.

currierej - Sounds easy enough, but like I mentioned to LouNY, I'm a little behind on the hydraulics curve. Thanks for the thoughts.

I added a third remote to the rear of my T4.105 last spring doing the labor myself, it was more than half that for the kit from New Holland. Maybe get the kit part number and shop that number? I looked up the number I purchased and put it into Messick's parts catalog - New Holland / Case IH: DIA KIT TRACTOR, Part # 7191957 ; you could do the same with the kit for you tractor as I am not sure if they are the same kit numbers.

eth555- I think I've found the correct part number for the 3rd rear remote for my T4.75 - P/N 719195250. Shows on Messick's as $1671.55. Depressing.....

I'm not sure if I have the correct 3rd functional kit P/N. It says "2 Mid Mount With JoystickInst." P/N 719124251.

Ouch! And I had sticker shock over ~ $900 (just parts) for 2 factory rear remotes that I installed myself.

Kioti doesn't offer a factory 3rd function. The dealers I had talked to all used the W.R. Long kit (which you should be able to get for about $850). I was not / am not a real fan of the grip replacement they use so I ended up building my own 3rd function from scratch. Still only cost me about $8-900 (not counting my labor).

I'm not as up on the way NH sets up their rear remotes so I'll defer to some of these other guys that know more about it, but if you can do simple mechanical stuff & aren't afraid to get your hands dirty (and have the time - that's also a component) then you should be able to either install your own 3rd function kit or build one yourself.

Everything Attachments (carries the W.R. Long kit) , FitRite Hydraulics, Kens Bolt On Hooks, and Michigan Iron & Equipment are all posters / supporters of the forum and offer various 3rd function and diverter kits. Or, if you'd rather source & build your own, several folks here have already done this and are willing to help you if you get stuck.

Either of those options will probably save you about half (more if you include the dealers labor costs) on the 3rd function.

I attached the write-up I did on our 3rd function build. It's a little long but it might give you enough of an idea what you're in for to decide if you want to build your own or buy a kit.

Best of luck whatever route you pick.
