I was wondering if anyone has experience with the New Holland QA and the ATI Tach-All QA units in order to compare them? Which would be better mechanically and which would be thinner so that the bucket would not be moved forward any more than possible so that the lifting capabilty and breakout force would be minimally affected?

The ATI Tach-All is more expensive.

Thanks.

I like the NH quick attach because it is an exact fit for your tractor. I'm not sure of the weight, but it is probably close to the ATI (100 lb). The ATI has the cross brace at the top of the bucket adapters and the NH has it at the bottom near the pivot. I think I would buy the NH over the ATI. The price a couple of years ago was $357 for the NH adapter. I think that's hard to beat; although, it is probably priced at least $400 by now. I don't think you will find even an inch difference in the the "distance forward" of both adapters.

I just went through the same decision process just a few weeks ago. Although the ATI looks slightly more beefy, at least in pictures since no dealer seems to have them in stock, I could not justify spending nearly double for it. My lowest quoted price was actually the MSRP of $714 so I purchased the NH model for $389 and couldn't be happier. I would save the extra $$ and put it towards the new QA bucket that you are going to need after converting to the QA system.

I also looked at an equivalent ATI bucket to the NH 72" HD model w/bolt-on cutting edge and ATI was almost $300 more so I opted keep my existing cutting edge and bought the NH model. If your existing bucket is in decent shape be sure to call around regarding a trade-in value. I was able to swap out mine for a new QA model and received $500 for the old one.

This one case where I'm going to disagree with Jim. I have the ATI which was added to my 2120 and the New Holland which came on my TN75D, The ATI is much stronger and easier to use. Also more expensive. Sometimes I need to use a pipe to get the New Holland to release.

Something is wrong with your NH QA. Have your greased your pins, or is one of them bent? My 10 y/o daughter has opened/closed mine in the past.

Your experience and mine are at opposite ends of the spectrum on the NH. Even my little wife can engage and disengage the arms on my NH. I can do it from a single side without walking around...just did it yesterday. I guess there's some variation on the NH assembly.
