first baler, first time baling..used but told it worked fine. Seems in excellent mechanincal condition. I ran it through a cycle manually the best I could - all seemed good.
Hit the field..noticed the feed tines loaded up and stopped moving..backed up and they moved again. - So the slip clutch is working.
Makes flakes just fine...but didn't tie anything.
I go to look and the twine needles are both broken..plunger hit them. Pricey ouch ($200...)
They are in the retracted posiition (well, the mount is...) - BUT - the knotters are PART way through a cycle and DO NOT MOVE. The shear bolt is intact. The knotter clutch seems to be the issue..or is the brake stuck on? There is a trip arm on the outside of the knotter clutch looks like it should have a spring on it...hole and a tab wit a hole...can't find an image of what it SHOULD look like.
The knotters moved from 'rest' position and stopped...I can't find anything jammed anywhere, but a needle tip was in there (loose)
I got hay in the field needing baled...but don't want to order needles until I know what the issue is and what other part(s) I may need.
