I'm surprized Soundguy (Chris) hasn't jumped on this question. I believe he is pulling a 15 ft John Deere batwing mower with a 7610S. He knows allot about the older Fords. You may want to send him a PM.

I do have a 7610s. though don't claim any specific special knowledge about it. .. I'm much more familiar with the older ford pre thousand series... most of what i know of my later thousan+ series machines comes from using them.. or sponging info of RickB, or another member here.

I believe the 7610s are a mexican assembled machine.

They are fairly utilitarian. Mine has the 8spd crashbox tranny, and that works fine for me. Mine is also 2wd.

Our county had a fleet of these for mowing ROW, and only recently got rid of them due to age/hours and went to TS100 units.

I pull a jd 1517 15' batwing mower with mine, and have pulled a howse 10' 3pt mower as well.

It has beefy strong hyds on the 3pt plus the delux remote pack for 2 da remotes with flow control. power steering, like most others, is more sluggish at idle rpm.. but it is more than fine at anything over idle.

she likes a good crisp battery to bang tht 304ci engine over.

i keep her serviced with fluids and filters yearly.

other than maintenance issues.. I've only ever had a single problem.. and it was a bad pilot circuit on one remote, and I swapped it with a remote pack from a salvage unit...as far as I know it had been like that from purchase.. but i never used the remotes till after warranty was gone.

I've replaced hoses and belts..a rear pto safty cover i bent.. that sort of thing.

good strong basic tractor.. I'm guessing something like 89 pto hp.. and engine hp ~ 95 or so ??

So far anything the batwing can eat and I can get the front axle over, the engine has enough 'smoke' available to make it thru without loosing rpms. that includs 5' weed and 3' lush grasses.. plus the very occasional and accidental 3" sappling tree ;0

bout the only issue I've ever had that broke me down in the field was clogged fuel strainer with gunk from bad fuel on the screen. new filter and a hour of laying inthe field with diesel dripping on me and blowing out the fuel tap / strainer and i was going again.. that and I repalced many of the orings inthe fuel system after what I blieve was a switch to biodiesel blnd by my fuel supplier for a few months...

no big issues.. but big power..

Thanks Soundguy! Thats great info. The guy is taking one in on trade just waiting for the deal to go through, and him to get it on the lot. Thanks again.

I like mine.. got it for a great deal.. it was a trade back.. guy bought it.. ran it in his orchard for a lil over a year.. hit a tree limb here and there with a fender and the canopy.. traded back for a tc48.. I got it at a near 10k$ discount from new price and she still had warranty left and only about 700hrs ont he clock. big cheap hp.. and she pulls my mowers fine. dented fenders didn't bother me one bit..
