Tractor
TN75DA
I just recently bought a 98 5635 4wd cab tractor. It has 3600 hrs on it and is in great shape. My question is I've really not heard much of these tractors? Theyre made like the TL's and I read where they were only made from 96-99.

Does anyone have any info on them? Good, bad or whatever you have. Thanks!

The 35 series were the first all Fiat based tractors that Ford dealers sold. They pre-dated the TL series. Probably all the electrical bugs are fixed by now if it is still in service. The 35 series and the TL's that followed are among the very least reliable tractors to ever wear Ford or New Holland blue. Great engines and not much else.

Really? Well that's not good. I bought it from a dealer that had sold the tractor new. They had always serviced it also.

So they had electrical issues? What other problems did they have that made them so bad?

I know a guy that has a 99 TL 90 and has had great service out of it. It has over 9000 hrs so far. That's not to say the one I bought will be around that long.

I just hope I didn't make a mistake buying it. They dyno'd it yesterday while I was there and it was showing 73 at the pto, I was surprised.

TN's were 3 cylinder (except for the later 85A and 95A) not-quite-flat deck tractors lowerer in HP than the 35 series and introduced in 1999. The 35 series 4 cylinder flat-deck tractors were introduced in 1995 and had FORD decals on the hood, at least at first.

If you have enough electrical problems, you don't need much else to go wrong. In general the mechanical linkages are weak, brake systems can be problematic, and the differential half-shafts prone to failure when the diff lock is used a lot. MFD front axles don't stand up well to heavy loader use.

Well I guess we will find out. Like you said if it's made it this long maybe the problems are gone or I hope. You have me worried now.

I added a picture. It seems to be in great shape and has an allied 595 loader
