Hello all.

I'm in the market for a haybine. I am looking at a NH 479 that owner is asking 1650. It was used last season with no problems per owner. I've checked on T-House and the price seems to be middle of the road. Rolls are in very good condition, only a few small cuts with no dry rot or delamination yet. Surprisingly. The bar in front of the reel is missing (broken off), the PTO shaft safety covers are warped for lack of a better term. Sheet metal covering reel belt is bent up. Shoes are intact, cutter looks fairly new and appears straight with the string test. The main drive box is covered with grease and dirt w/ an obvious leak. The pulley behind the box has some play in it, the pin clutch looked to be ok. I shook the wobble box back and forth and it did not have very much play in it at all. How do you all properly "test" this wobble box for excessive wear in the field? Are some of these things an indication this machine was beat excessively? Owner will not be negotiable as far as I can tell.
