NH 3930 air cleaner

I own a NH 3930 (tractor no. 042423B, ModelCA51WX, engine C636596 -96 or 97 model) that is equipped with an oil bath air cleaner instead of the more common dry type. I need the bottom bowl assembly with the sealing ring. The catches on the bowl that I have are broken. The NH dealer said that he cannot get the bowl since it is a grey market tractor. I have a N. American operators manual that has the oil bath cleaner in it. I really don't think he is trying hard. He said that I can replace the oil bath cleaner with a dry air cleaner for approx. $300.00. He is more than happy to sell me the dry cleaner. I need help in locating the bowl. Your help will be appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Is there different dealer that you can go to? I think that you need a dealer that has a real parts man. It's irritating when you know what you want and they won't even try, because it would require them to do something.

You don't have to actually go to another dealer since most NH dealers will sell you parts and ship them to you. Try Messicks at (888)285-0225 and ask for parts.

I thought I would post an update concerning my problem with the air cleaner. I appreciate the advice given however I have yet to find the bowl. I have talked with 4 NH parts personnel at different dealers and they can't help. The oil bath filter comes up on their computer but with no part numbers. One individual tried to contact England to get it but no luck. It seems that only a very few with oil baths were sent to the US market. Its kind of strange that the I can get the seal for the bowl from NH. I guess I will have to pay for the $300 conversion. The NH folks were very helpful and went the extra mile. I will have to pay the price for buying grey market however for what I saved I can buy several air cleaner assemblies. The tractor is in excellent condition. I can't understand why a company as large as NH wants to make it difficult to get parts. It is my understanding that all 3930s were manufactured in England. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
