Price Check NH 3415 TC33d TC30 price

hello, while I have just registered I have been "lurking" here for a while. I am finally ready to buy a new tractor and have decided on NH. The machine will be 90% used for mowing, but may be used in small scale agri. (4-6 acres) in the future. My better half does a lot of the mowing so i would like something she will be happy with. I was given a price of approx. $13000 for a new NH 3415 at a dealer 60 miles from me. Is this good? Looked at the tc33d (4wd hst)...at $13700, 2wd gear trans $10300. Could get a tc30 2wd for $9400. Finally a tc33d with FEL,R4,std tran. with 58 hrs for $15925. I really appreciate any advice on which deal is better for my needs.

I can't answer to the prices of all models but price for the TC33d look good to me.

If your misses will spend a good bit of time on the tractor, take her with and see how she feels. My TC33D is a little too big for my wife. Sure, she can move the seat foward, adjust the steering wheel to operate the tractor, but to push the clutch or to set the brake is a bit of a reach for her.

Can you define "small scale agri" a bit for us? Some agricultural equipment takes significant HP to operate.

in the future I may want to maintain a 1/2 -1 acre garden. I have narrowed my choices down to two, the tc33d and tc35d. My wife insist that we get hst. I have not been able to find a tc35d to look at in my area. We passed a Deere dealership while out for dinner. Stopped and looked at some of the models. She REALLY likes the size of the 990. So whom am I to argue about getting a larger tractor? My dealer quoted me a price of 14988 with r4s. She likes the fit of the tc33d also. Is tc35d much smaller than the deere 990(which is not an option, no hst)? I know it is a larger frame than the 33. While I have her blessing I think I'll go with the tcd35, being she is paying for it. I hate to buy a tractor I have not seen but from what i have read on this and other forums I don't think I can go wrong. the dealer is trying to locate one now.

Horsepower is so close between the TC33D and the TC35D. But I think the TC35D will handle a 6' tiller and brush hog where the TC33D will only handle Those in 5'. The TC35D will also handle a bigger loader capacity than the TC33D. But the TC33D has a tighter turning radius and will fit into a narrower or shorter area. I actually downgraded in size to a TC29 for the tighter handleing. But there are times when I wish I had the loader capacity of the Bigger TC's.

Stick with the TC33D. This should fit your needs well. I think you would find the TC35 to be too massive for primarily mowing the lawn and cause more soil compaction. The TC33 is a good size tractor for your acreage and can handle heavier chores also. I mow about 1.5 acres and made the mistake of buying too large. I had a JD4300 HST with 60MM and felt this was too bulky and mammoth for my property. I have downsized to a Kubota B2410 HSTwith FEL and 60"RDM and am happy with this smaller tractor. I also use it with a 54" JD tiller and 48"WOODS bushhog. A few years ago I owned a Massey 1233 HST which was an excellent tractor as well. The yanmar engine on the JD was noticeably louder than the Massey and Kubota.

I'd have to agree with Nik, Terry. Use the extra savings on a nice finish mower. If alot of cutting is going to be done you may want a decent canopy. Get ready for 600-1000$ for that little goody.
