Is there a way to adjust the dual clutch w/o splitting the tractor?! I have a front loader on it and I do not see any opening which would allow to adjust the clearance between the transmission and the PTO clutch. I understand that there are three bolts which can be adjusted so that there is no to large axial distance (or travel) after the transmission clutch is disengaged and before the PTO clutch disengages. The only way I can get the PTO to disengage is to take the pedal free play to less than the spec (barely .5 "). I am concern that the through out bearing may be touching the fingers of the pressure plate with such small pedal free play.

My neighbor has the same tractor and in his tractor the pedal free play is very large, around 1.5-1.75 inch, and his PTO still disengages at the end of the clutch pedal travel.

BTW, as the transmission clutch disc wears out, does the distance between these three boots to the member of the PTO clutch increase? I read somewhere that the distance should be only 1.1-1.2 mm.

Otherwise the both clutches operate nice, no slipping, no grinding.

I appreciate the answers and any related discussion.

Thank you for input. THAT'S great that there is a port to adjust the point of engagement of the PTO clutch.

My problem is I am not sure where is that opening. I assume must be under the loader attachment plates.

One important question, do you know if that particular clearance becomes larger with the wear of the transmission clutch disk (and that possibly requires the longer travel of the pedal before the PTO disengages) ?

Thank you again for your input, regards,
Rod

Hi Kirk,
Do you know if it is OK my current free play play adjustment: I took care of the all wear on the connecting rod, but when I inserted the clevis pin the cross shaft bell crank (4 in Fig 135) was touching something inside the housing. However, when I press the pedal there is about 1/2" travel before I feel the resistance - so I am assuming that after that 1/2" of the travel the through out bearing just touched the fingers of the pressure plate.
Thank you so kindly on your inputs,
Rod
PS by the way is your manual original Ford publication or it is published IT?

I have never actually seen my clutch access port, likely because it's behind the left loader mount. But this thread has more info:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/new-holland-owning-operating/176639-ford-1920-pto-clutch-fun.html

And there is a picture of the access port on this thread:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ing/356752-problem-splitting-ford-1920-a.html

My manual is the IT FO-46

The Ford 1920 clutch adjustment port IS behind the left loader mount.
I would assume the same for the OP's 2120.
