Ford 1900 FWD Kubota F2100E
I am looking at a 1998 NH1920 FWD with 1400 hrs. It is in exelent condition. It has SSS transmission that I am not familiar with. Is this a good trans, any common problems. It has turf tires on it. No FEL just your basic tractor. Any idea on what it is worth. Also, if I get it I will be taking the FEL off my 1900. Is it easy to hook up the hydraulics on the 1920. Is there any parts I will have to buy.

Sorry no one has replied yet. Sounds like a good deal. Any pics, is there a timeframe for buying (are you rushed to make a decision)?

The SSS tranny is a good transmission. I have had the chance to run 1920's with the 12x12 SSS tranny and the 12x4 tranny. Both trannys are good but if you plan on using this tractor for a loader tractor you will want the SSS tranny as the 12x4 tranny is kind of a pain to change into reverse time and time again.

I am not sure what 1920's are selling for now but I paid $16k for mine a few years back with less hours, a new 7308 loader, curtis cab, curtis blade to mount on the loader, 5' brush chopper and a 5' snow blower and R1's.

I can't answer your question about changing the loader over but I am sure one of the other members will be able to help out in a short while.

The 1920 is a great tractor. i had one witht he 12x4 tranny... loved it for mowing and pulling. if I was running a loader i would deffinately want the 12x12.

On the mid right lower side of the eng is a hyds tap off block.. or at least onmine it was.. a 1997 model.

I bought mine with 720? hours on it and paid 9500$ before tax/etc.
ag tires, 4x4 12x4 tranny, and NO loader.

I'll add another vote for the 12x12 SSS transmission. I had one in a 1720 and it was convenient and worked flawlessly for the 4 years I owned it. The ability to change forward gears while moving and change from forward to reverse without a "complete" stop was really nice. Like anything else, the value of a used tractor is heavily dependent on it's maintenance history. If it was a one owner tractor that was properly maintained it will be in better shape at 3000 hours than a poorly maintained tractor is at 1000 hours.

You might try tractorhouse.com or equipmentlocator.com to help set an average asking price. Good luck with your decision.

I've got the little brother to the 1920. It is a 1720 with SSS 12x12. It is a great little tractor. The 1920 is just more so. I gave $7K plus traded a Yanmar YM 1700. The 1720 had 245 one owner hours and was cherry. I got a box blade to boot. I valued the tractor at $9K. It had just been traded. I was lucky. It would not have lasted. Those are great units. If the 1920 is in good shape with regular maintenance she will bring a pretty penny. I would expect in the $9K to $12K range.

Turby, your guess was closer than mine. It went for 8,750. That was more than I wanted to spend on 8 year old tractor. Tractor Data lists the new price as 15,500. I don't know if that is accurate or not. Maby I'm cheap or maby it is because there isn't any thing wrong with my 1900 but I was thinking between 7-8K. Is there any where else that lists tractors origional prices.

I running a 2120 that I bought in 1987. Runs as good as new. If I wanted to sell it it would sell bsed on hours not age.

Some of these older tractors actually sell for close to or more than original price.
