I had a 1995 NH 1215 for about a decade and used it regularly without any incidents. I bought a new tractor so this one has been parked without moving for about 2 years. I decided to bring it out. It started fine like always, drove it about 150 feet and let it run for several minutes. I shut it down and rechecked fluids, the hydraulic fluid was low. I had some TSC universal fluid on hand, granted it had been sitting around for at least 3yrs. The fluid itself looked amberish clear, pretty good in my opinion so I decided to use it. I used about a quart or less. As soon as the tractor was started it made a cavitating sound, like a power steering system that is low and fluid is added, as I drove it down the driveway I thought the air should work itself out. The whine/buzz was felt on the pedal as it was depressed, the pedal got lower and lower, and finally, the machine failed to proceed about 150 feet down the drive. I plan on draining the system and replacing all the fluids in a hail-mary attempt to bring it back to life. Any recommendations and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
