All the brand names are generally decent quality...if you don't mind used equipment you can probably get both a decent box blade and a quality rear blade for less money than a single new unit of similar quality...

usually the heavier the better when it comes to grading implements...sized for your machine...

Yea, around here its all overpriced re-sold junk on CL. Old neckbeards hoard everything, then price it as gold. Just looked at a bent up, beat to death (probably TSC) unit for $400 on CL. I should have took a pic lol. I am looking tho.

Local tractor dealer only has Diamond H, which I hear is flimsy....and another dealer has a land pride for $1200.

Just seeing if there is a solid runner up to the EA units, which seem to be well built. I definitely need something heavy duty.

Woods equipment builds box blades of different grades. I believe there heavy duty model would be very similar to EA but have not looked at them side by side to confirm this.

Industrias Americas makes a real good heavy duty rear blade. They also have box blades. Prices are about 50% of a comparable Land Pride.
This 10' blade was $2500 new. 20180407_113848.jpeg

For a box blade I have a Bush Hog 720 roll over box blade at 710# - 72" wide and a Rhino 950 rear blade at 1050# - 96" wide. Both are class two implements - both companies make class one implements. These implements are extremely heavy duty - designed for the toughest jobs - designed to last a lifetime.

Weight is your friend with any land engagement implement. Hydraulic top link will save you time and allow finite adjustment to obtain maximum benefit of any "dirt" implement.

By the way - Welcome to TBN and the forum. Suggestion - update your profile and tell us where you are located.

I had my selection down between an EA and a Tufline, 7-footers. The Tufline (1,200#) was only slightly less weight and enough less that I went with it.

Best indicator of weight and quality is the thickness of the metal used. Every manufacturer will specify what the thicknesses are.

I have ~40 hp tractor and a 6' BB. I wish I had gone to a HD 7'. The "recommendations" in the Kubota User's Manual is way too conservative IMO.

If you're in the SE (hint), take a look at LMC (Lowery Manufacturing Co.), out of Boaz, AL and their MT model BBs. Far heavier duty than theirs and others standard or economy models. Remember: Heavier = Better for 3ph implements.

Look for one that is a high back model with a hinged tailboard. Mine also has a lever that operates the rippers, model GBS72R, weighs 647 pounds:
