newest member to my orange family - kubota cw1336 walk-behind mower

so, last week i found this gem on craigslist -- guy said it worked well, etc. etc. --

-- went to meet him on saturday in erie, pa -- wouldn't start!!

these mowers are pretty interesting -- they have kubota gas motors on them, and they're built like tanks -- !!

anyway, the guy wanted $400 for the mower -- it originally sold for $3,100 -- and i was pretty interested in it -- though i couldn't dare show it!

anyway, not starting, i hemmed and hawed, and the owner finally said, "how about $200" --

-- i said, "deal" -- !!

so, i got the mower home, my dad came over yesterday, and it had SPARK -- !!

the gas was a bit funny, so we drained and replaced, and FINALLY, it STARTED -- no burning oil, nice compression, etc. --

-- next, i bought the workshop service manual on ebay for $25 -- and THANKFULLY, parts are still available for these -- !!

anyway, it's a work in progress -- i'll use it as a trim mower -- it's a little piece of kubota history, for a great price!!

Kubota's are basically bullet proof!:thumbsup: I deal with alot of different brand mowers as a service & sales business and I have to say ...In my opinion Kubota is at the top of my list for quality!!! Another really good mower that is getting rare is the Johndeere 14SB rear bagger! $200 for your walk behind was a steal of a deal!!! Excellent job bargaining!!!:thumbsup:
