Kubota B2710
Hi, Guy's
I just purchased a B2710 with 950 hrs, and have been going through
lubing, checking and trying to make sure its all ready for use that is with my limited knowledge. The oil was black and it had a car-quest 85064 filter on it, honestly she didn't sound bad I just didn't have a clue when it had been serviced, so I changed the oil and may have made a mistake!
I just changed it and ran it for few minutes and checked the level.
I put a Kubota HH160-32093 filter on and maybe here's my mistake I put Rotella T4 15W40 triple protection in her for oil, she doesn't sound the same so it worries me that I messed up, haven't ran her since. I know that Rotella is a great product and have used it in the past in several types of engines, not this blend.
I just didn't want to ruin my new/used Baby!!!!
Have a great day and thank you for your kindness....

Messicks lists that as the correct oil filter.

Use Delo 15w-40, Rotella should not make any difference make sure its up to the right spot on the dipstick and should be ok.

Oil will usually turn black in a few hours of use with a diesel.

:welcome:
To the TBN forum James. Congrats on your new baby. :D

I use Rotella T5 as I can't get T6 in 15W40. T4 should be fine as that is what my dealer said that they use.

So, what is the difference in sound that you are worried about?

I run the same Rotella in my Kubotas with no problem. If you are looking for correct maintenance, I noticed that most maintenance schedules recommend that valves be adjusted at 800 hours. You might want to check and this if this applies to your Kubota as well.
Good luck with the new machine.

Former owner may have used wrong oil or some type heavy oil or adative and the former sound was wrong and now the new sound is right with the right oil in it. Stop worrying and go forth and enjoy your Kubota. Oil will turn black in a few hours use in diesel.

Thank's guy's.....
It actually sounded like the valves were louder, so maybe AStanton has a point I don't have the maintenance history available! It was noticeable.
So much so that my son picked up on it. MrThomas may have a
point as well, I am not familiar with this little Baby and need to feel her out and become antiquated with her sounds and handling before passing
judgement on mechanical issues I suppose....Guy's we're all the the same I believe, we want our BABIES to be happy and purrrr...like kittens :) I have some spraying to do and then I hope to start our food plot preparations with my son's. Thanks again Jeff, I will follow up. The rain has had us shut down all week, should let up on Sunday I hope...
Thank you, I appreciate your input and will monitor and use wisely then update you later on....
Thanks again...

I agree with the others that the oil you are using is fine. May want to switch to the 5w 40 before winter though. The 5W is for better starting in cold weather.

Welcome and enjoy that new Rig!
