I have the Kubota plow to attach to my bx. I am assuming I should leave the hoe on for weight? Anyone have a link for chains for the r4's? Thanks.

Welcome to TBN:D

A real good source for chains is Tire Chains by Tirechains.com

The BH would definitely be good for weight, as long as you don't have real small spaces to clear.

I would hold off on the chains. I think you will find out that you don't need them. I leave the hoe on for the weight. A lot of the time you don't even need 4WD. Just the weight of the hoe on the R4s works great.

How flat is your driveway you plan on plowing? I'm assuming you are planning on plowing snow this winter. That extra weight will be nice on flat ground and the hoe can help you get unstuck but that extra weight going up and down hills might hurt you more than help.

It's a pretty decent grade and a 1/4mile plus drive...not much flat area except at the top.

I keep mine on, it's worth it weight in gold when it comes to added traction!

Ileave mine on.It has saved my butt a few times ,when i tryed to push the snow off the drive on the side of my hill.Cant get it out of a certain spot ,with the diff.lock and fel,if i go to far.The hoe will pull me out.Im going with a blower soon, and ill be taking mine off though.Ishouldnt have bankings to push back then.

The downside to leaving the BH installed is that it so radically changes the COG. I hate running over a slug of snow that gets my tractor out of kilter...seems to pucker me up a little more with the BH installed.

Though I don't have a huge amount of snow or extremely steep slopes, I've never had any type of traction issue with a simple FEL, BB, and turf tire combination. Pretty much unstoppable in my neck of the woods.
