I just bought my first trac, a used 1995 b20. No service history so I want to at least do an oil/filter change to start.
10-30 is reccommended. What oil are you guys using?
I noticed here is no mention of a temp light or gauge/warning horn in the manual. Am I missing something here?
Also has anybody ever had there Hoe off? Might want to utilize the 3 point more than I'll use the Hoe?
Thanks.

Matt,

Also recently purchased my 1st tractor; a 1991 B20, and I love it.

The hoe had been removed prior to my purchase; which suited me fine as I planned to use the 3 pt. hitch. The tractor had none of the hookups for the 3 pt and I checked with my local dealer for a 3 pt hitch kit. I was told that a kit was not available for that model and the pieces had to be purchased seperately at a cost of approx. $1000. Obviously this floored me and I began a search on the internet.

I located a kit for $179, sold by one of the companies that advertises on this site: Farm and Ranch Attachments I telephoned them to confirm that it would fit the B20 and was assured that it would.

When the kit arrived I found that the kit would not fit without a great deal of alterations. Luckily I have a friend that welds so we were able to make it work. Even with the alterations it was a far cry cheaper than $1000.

I told you all that just to let you know if you need any help with the 3 pt. let me know. I might be able to save you a little time.

Thanks Les. Good luck with your 20. For reference, dealer says 15-40 so Rotella went in it. Just picked up a clamp on 2" receiver for the loader from Northern Tool to move trailers around. I'm thinking a pair of clamp-on aluminum light duty forks as well. Does yours have a temp gauge or light/alarm? I do have the factory Hoe and it looks like it might utilize part of the 3 point. Any pics of your 20?

Matt,

My 20 does not have a temp. gauge or light; wish it did.

I just discovered a great website: Gray Market Kubota Oil Filter Part Numbers | OrangeTractorTalks

It allows you to cross reference filter numbers in case you can't get to the local dealer.

Also, when you go to the site, look in the left most column for a section titled "Popular Articles". Click on "Kubota Servicing 101: Part 1" There you will find excellent info about servicing air filter, cooling system, fuel filter, and oil change. It is well worth your time.

Les,
Good info. Thanks. As to the temp problem, I have a Kubota dealer in PA researching info on other botas that used the same more as ours for some type of temp gauge/sender we can use. Might have to get a generic mechanical or elec. gauge from Summit Racing. He's working on it and I'll post when I get it from him. Another owner sent me info on what he did. I'll get the link and put it on here as well. Actually its a coupler pipe that goes between the top rad hose and the radiator. It has a threaded port to which you adapt a sender to a gauge.

I have a B20 1995 and have the BH off now and the snowblower attached. I'll also attach the bush hog when necessary but for me, I leave the BH attached spring, summer and fall most of the time. One reason is for ballast, I do not like picking anything up in the FEL without it on.

Kyle, any chance of a couple of pics with the blower? Never saw one on a b20.

Matt,

Here's pics of the blower on my B20. Personally I have the BH on all the time except for winter and when I need to bush hog which is not often. This year I am planning to get a box blade and a plow or middlebuster. The only issue with the B20 is the PTO hp is not great, something like 15-16 so when it's heavy wet snow, it struggles throwing the snow a long ways. I have never had that much of a problem but now and again a wet snow fall occurs of 6-8" and that is when you notice it.

One thing to note is if the BH has not been off very often in the past, it may be a bear to get it off the first time. I know it was when I first bought mine used and had to coax it off.

Kyle, looks like a beast of a blower. Good pics. I'll get a few of mine up as well. A nice power angle blade on the front would do wonders.
