Had a new Z445 brought out to the place to replace a x320 we have had for several years. Kinda like a pig on roller skates at first with the zero turn, but rapidly picked it up. Cuts great and really cuts down the mow time on our 2 acres yard. My only issue has been maintenance parts. The JD dealer couldn't figure out between two oil filters which one was needed. Gave me a AM107423 for first oil change at 8 hrs. After using the mower the first time, decide to do a little searching thru the various aspects and found that it needs a AM125424 oil filter. At least caught that mistake before first change.
They are having to get me a owners manual, as someone misplaced the one that came with the machine. Did a little searching around on the JD's website at manuals. This is an adventure for sure. The trans fluids. One manual says 20w50, another says J20D, and the service label on my mower says 10w30 for both engine and trans.
Other than this, it seems to be a real stellar machine. We have a LOT of new trees, outbuildings, bushes, and a host of other obstacles on the property, and the Z445 makes short work of maneuvering around everything and getting a nice close cut. I got the 54C deck.
