Kubota BX1870 2013
Hello,
Long time lurker with newly purchased 2013 BX1870 (New to me). So picked up this Kubota BX1870 2013 model, love it! Curious to what are the differences of the BX1870 and BX1870-1 searched however I can not find the main differences.

Thank you
Dave

I just bought an 1870 for my Florida property and am just amazed at the power. I have a bx 2200 with 4 more hp in Pa. and It does everything my slightly bigger tractor does, just used a few more rpm's.

Dave, welcome.
I think the main differences are different fold point at the rops and a thicker floor mat.

Welcome Dave, and thank you for your service. Life gets a whole lot easier with a machine around to do stuff

Hey Dave,
I just got a 2015 BX1870-1. The only difference I can see is that my ROPs are not as wide as yours.
Lets keep in touch.

Thank you for noticing. I kick myself at times for getting out, I would have retired last year. It did allow me to see the world, a little battle here and there and prepared me for college and life.

Tim,
Have you installed a grill guard on yours? I have not decided on what I want yet.

No, I did do the Piranha tooth bar as well as the quick connect ROP lights from BXpanded.

That thing looks like new! Very nice. I have a BX2360 and put the factory grill guard on it. It is very sturdy fit good and looks good.

Oh Dave, you might want to check your front axle oil. The BX tractors have been known to be low when new from the dealer. If no one checked it it will be low. Mine took a little over a quart when I checked it. And many others have been low.

Yeah the gentleman that owned it mowed his 4 acre manicured lawn with it and purchased the loader last year for snow removal here in NY. He moved into a new house with less than one acre, so this was obviously to big, loader never saw dirt and only one season of winter which it looks like he did not even hit ice with it. Zero scratches.

What oil did you use?

What oil did you use?

Dave, it uses the same oil as the transmission. Kubota UDT fluid. If you have the operators manual it will tell you all the fluid types in there. I see the man you bought the tractor from added a FEL. Check to make sure he topped off the trans oil. Adding the FEL will use almost a gallon of oil.

Congratulations on the tractor. Dog looks happy, too.

If you intend to run it without the mower deck, check out a protection plate for the hydro fan. BXpanded and Bro-Tek are a couple of dealers. Search this forum for hydro fan and you'll see it's an Achilles heel of BXs.

Have fun!

Thank you for the advise, Bandit my pup rides everything with me. He loves the 4 wheeler!
