Ford 1210
Hi all,
I recently won at a sealed bid auction a 550-hour 1986 Ford 1210 2WD w/Hydro and a 702a Dozer blade for the crazy low price of $551.37. It runs perfect, everything works, it lived indoors for at least the last 20 years, and was maintained by a professional mechanic. Its pretty much overkill for what i need, but i really didn't think i would win it for that amount.

It really needs just a good cleaning, and I'm going to change all the fluids and filters. It came with the Shop and owners manual (for the blade also!) and I'm going to piece together a set of chains from a 5 gal bucket my FIL has. There are a few attachments i already know i want, a tiller, a rake, boom-pole 3pt forks/carryall etc etc...

I probably wont be posting much, but you can be assured I will be here lurking, and digging thru the years of posts regarding all aspects of ownership and operating this little beastie. I have already learned a great deal from the accumulated knowledge in the archives, and since this is my first tractor (a JD L130 mower doesn't count) and first diesel, I have much to absorb.

It has already had its first real job, and wasn't even tested. We managed to pallet, and drag a ~350# pumpkin from the garden last weekend! I let the wife drive, as she is rather dubious of or need for the tractor and wanted a little buy-in from her, but I think after having her drive, I might have trouble getting her off it!

I just wanted to stop in and say hi, and brag a little and say thanks for all the info.

Ill be around :)

Yeah, you got a GREAT deal on that one. And great timing to pull that 350lb pumpkin ! Those are low hours and it does not look like it lived outside for that long, I bet it was kept inside for part of its life.

Great deal and great tractor. Those old Fords were built like tanks. I'm sure you'll love owning and using it for many years to come.

I have owned a couple Japanese Fords like that over the years and they are great tractors. Not just good but great. With reasonable care as outlined in the owner's manual it will outlive you. Pictures in action always a plus and a snapshot of that pumpkin would be nice if it's available.
