John Deere 2038r, Kubota L3200
Hello to all you TBN members. I've been reading the posts for a while now and finally decided that I'd better participate. About 4 months ago I purchased a new Kubota L3200 with the quick disconnect front loader bucket, Land Pride grapple, Land Pride box scraper, and the Kubota backhoe. I am currently using the tractor to build an access road through the woods to connect with an old skidder road that runs into a ravine. Ultimately, I plan to fill in the skidder road to reduce erosion and limit our potential slide exposure. It's a big project for a relatively small tractor, but so far the tractor is doing OK. My only frustration is the size of the hydraulic pump with respect to the backhoe ... and the grapple, too, I guess. It has been a bit of a challenge to dig out some of the stumps. Overall the tractor works great and I am quite pleased with it. Once I get past the really heavy work I'm sure the tractor will more than handle my project.

I am also opening up some of the other areas of my property. It requires some leveling and a couple of tiers in one area, but I've already removed the necessary trees and most of the stumps. I hope to make the area park like with grass areas between the remaining trees (large cedars and firs) and can see some type of brush hog or finish mower in my future. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Looking forward to participating on the forums.

Welcome and congratulations on on the new Kubota. While full on backhoes can outdig tractors with backhoe "attachments" by multiples, there is nothing like the versatility of a tractor with various attachments on the back and front. I have both a full on Case backhoe and a Kubota tractor with backhoe and I have to admit I put the backhoe on the Kubota more often than the Case. I like the Case for the almost instant FEL movement with it's 24 GPM pump. My backhoe skills are about equivalent to my 14 GPM Kubota pump. So life is good.
