Hi All!
For the past 25 years or so, I have owned a Ford 1700 tractor. It has been a true work horse, and has served me well. However, it, like I, and getting a bit long in the tooth, and things are starting to go wrong. So, I have joined this forum to try to gain enough knowledge to keep my old friend in the game.
I come from a excavation/mechanical background, and done a lot of work on construction equipment and vehicles. Unfortunately, I don't own a garage, and am forced to literally be a shade tree mechanic.
Besides the Ford, I have a 1988 580K Case. It too is showing it's age, and I hope it lasts until I no longer need it!
I own a few acres in South West CT, in a town called Shelton. It is a pretty poor piece of land, that slopes down into wetlands, with several hundred feet of gravel driveway the washes out in heavy rains, and needs much plowing in the winter. Also, my wife has horses. So, you can imagine what I use the two tractors for!
Sorry to ramble on, but this is and introduction forum, right?:confused2:
