Hello from Tennessee! I have about an 85 1050 John Deer with 2500 hrs... with a front loader, spear and newer finishing mower. tractor was purchased about 3.5 years ago... with purchase of house. Tractor runs pretty good, but have started having a few problems. First... tractor wouldn't start one day... purchased new one... tractor still won't start. Finally hooked my Dodge to it as well and now tractor will start. Is it possible I have the wrong type of battery?
Secondly, hydraulics are acting crazy. Last summer they worked fine. Then this winter, they wouldn't hardly move anything... not bucket or raise back hydraulics. Got tractor started other day (see above) and hydraulics worked fine for about 15 minutes, then they started responding very slowly... there is plenty of fluid in it... any suggestions?
