Hello all,
I'm a somewhat-new member and recently sold my 318 after many years of use.
After a bit of research, I purchased a '99 JD345 with the 20 h.p. engine and
hope I made a good choice.
I mow about 2 acres and will use it to push snow off my driveway.
I'm aware of the cam gear issues, so that's why I was sure to get one
with the 20 hp. From the serial number, it appears to be a late 1999 model.
This machine has 545 hours on it, a 54" deck and has a 4 year-old power-flo
bagger. I got it from a fellow in PA. who owns several other JD tractors and
is a good mechanic, too. I paid $3200.00 for it, which I don't think was too bad.
Only thing I know I need is a new seat, which is no big deal.
It has been well maintained and stored indoors.
This post is to ask others for any advice on this machine such as things
to watch for or any odd nuances this model may have.
I'm not wild about the new electronics and hope it's not an issue, though
I can troubleshoot it if need be.
Below are a few pictures. If there are any bits of wisdom on this machine, I'd
appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks!
