I was looking for a new mower when my MTD 20HP/50" started flipping the belt on the deck. Enough headaches with that machine. Anyway I pretty much decided on a Cub 2554 new from the local dealer. I called and they had one at his other store and I told him I'd take it for the $3700 he was asking. I have a Kubota L3130 for real work so a good solid dedicated mower was what I was looking for. The dealer calls back the next day and a guy at the other store sold the last 2554 before he told him it was sold. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif To make matters worse, he called cub cadet to order one and, get this, THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM FOR THE YEAR!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif He said they switched the factory over to snow blowers or something. This seems crazy to me, it's the start of summer, but what do I know.
Anyway, I saw someone on the classifieds here selling a used GT3200 for $4500.00. I called and talked with him and arranged everything. I went and got it on a U-haul trailer. Get this, it is a 2005 with 3.5 hours on it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif He used it once and had the blades re-sharpened and then put it away when his plans fell through to move out of the city. It is like new. I almost doubled the hours on it they day I got it home. Oh yeah, for the $4500 I also got a new 17 cf. cub cadet trailer to pull behind it. I couldn't justify the retail price for the GT3200, but I liked it's features. At $4500 I think I got a great deal!!
The diff lock, hydraulic lift, and power steering make this machine like a Cadillac compared to my old machine. The 9 gauge steel deck and frame should let this thing last for years on my fairly rough, hilly yard to. I couldn't be happier. I got to call and thank the dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
