2006 MF GC2300
Hi guys,

Been lurking for a while trying to pick out a tractor, decided on a GC2300. Its a 2006 era model JRA23630 with 800 hours on it including a 60" MMM. No operating manual, working on getting that through Agco pubs (not sure which manuals, 4283003M1 and 4283035M2 appears to be body and engine). I had a question. I have a lever on the right fender which I assume to be cruise, although the dealer I purchased it from said it doesn't have it. The label is missing and it doesn't want to move, at least while parked. Can anyone chime in to confirm that's what it is and how to activate it? Also found a couple other items that are common issues such as the loose steering mount, and missing rear HST pedal pad. So far, really happy with it, mainly for grass until I get motivated to start a garden.

Thanks!

Rick

Not sure which of your labels is missing, so here's the whole shootin' match:

Three knobs, two orange and one grey.

In the pic (to the right = forward from seat), the orange to the right is for engaging 4WD (forward = IN/4WD, rearward = OUT/2WD)
The orange one to the left is for the drive gear selection (forward = high range, rearward = low range, center = NEUTRAL)

The grey one is for the 3 point hitch:

rearward = RAISE (and it may stay in there and continue raising; sometimes it will pop out when 3PH is at top, sometimes it will "stick" and you'll hear the squealing of the pressure relief valve-- just nudge it forward a bit and squealing will stop.)
forward = LOWER, which is gravity-operated. With nothing connected to the 3PH (MMM or rear implement), it will not lower by itself.

And no, this tractor does not have "cruise."

Awesome thanks. I have a fourth lever in the spot you have an empty slot inboard of the speed range knob. That's the unlabeled one as well. I have the same lift lever tendencies you mention in regards to the raising.

Really? Cool! Let me know what that does when you find out! Mine's a 2007 model, only a bit newer. Wonder what you have there.

Its definitely linked to the throttle but it wont budge.

?!?? That sure does look like it might be a cruise control! Never heard of one on a GC-- was told they just weren't available on these small tractors.

Have you tried to ask a different dealer? Good pics, BTW! Hopefully, with the addition of the pics, someone might be able to help. Perhaps a thread entitled "Is this a cruise control?" Ray? Any ideas?

PS-- with the different color o those metal parts (i.e., not painted), that looks like maybe an after-the-sale add-on. Maybe by previous owner?

That slot that's empty on irvings tractor is also empty on my GC1705. I have cruise but it's on the dashboard.

I meant to say linked to the HST pedal, not throttle.

Its the cruise control, Push the forward peddle down to where you want your speed then slide the lever forward to match and let go. I have it on my GC2600 but only use it to plow snow, yard is to rough when mowing.
