I just put a deposit on a Bobcat CT445 with 350 hours, a FEL, Hydro, Quick release bucket, and a 110" Befco finish deck. I spent a lot of time reading on this site before making my decision and after all was said and done, I chose the 445 over a CT230. I feel like I got a pretty good deal at $12,900 for the whole setup. The tractor shows very minimal wear and has a brand new battery. It's a 2009 model and I hope to pick it up this upcoming weekend. I priced the same setup with my local Bobcat dealer, whom I purchase equipment and parts from for a 185 Skid Steer and 425 Mini Ex we own, and they were almost double that for a new one.

I have just over 5 acres to mow and I could've gone with an 84" Landpride finish deck that was also available but I figured the larger deck would be more productive.

Sounds like a heavy machine just for mowing 5 acres. If you're mowing field, I guess that would be fine. But if it's lawn, you're looking at some serious soil compression with a nearly 4000 pound beast.

It's all field, plus I need the loader capability. I have more sinkholes than you can imagine and good fill does nothing without the proper equipment to move it. That combined with snow removal at home and at my business is behind my decision.

Ah. That makes your choice more understandable.
