- 2015 Mahindra eMax 25 HST
As the subject indicates, a couple of weeks ago I got a 2015 Mahindra eMax 25. 25L loader, Daedong diesel, 60" belly mower. A lot of hours (500), but runs well, couple of minor leaks, plastic hood and side panels have/had cracks/pieces missing issues (probably was stored outside, MAYBE under a shed roof/tarp). First thing I did was to change all the fluid and filters... which I still have to do the hydrostatic stuff..
Using my 'nerdy-ness' to fix the hood/side panel missing stand-off/mounts by printing some replacements I made on a 3D printer and epoxy-ing them in the appropriate places. Hood cracks are being put back together using epoxy in the cracks and trying to make a 'patch' for a serious missing chunk in the diesel tank fill area using a piece of abs plastic, my trusty ole Berz-o-matic torch and some epoxy with some supports on the back side. (Mahindra direct wants $400+ for a new plastic hood top piece what could look exactly like what I have in a few years. I want to figure out if I can get or make a sheet metal one to replace the plastic one.
Now that I finished the intro/background stuff, to my question.
This is my first tractor and I am curious... when I start the tractor (without the hood, but probably will happen with the hood on also), I hear what I think is a little 'ringing' noise. Kinda like something metal tapping against each other, a belt pulley, or possibly something a tiny bit loose (but my hearing is not the best). I have looked around the engine compartment and honestly haven't seen anything and haven't honestly isolated the area on the engine bay where the noise might be coming from....(I plan on doing that tomorrow).
I don't think this is anything like a valve needing adjustment or having an issue (I have to see if the valve setup requires adjustment or not).
I know I am asking this out of the blue, but does anyone out there with much more knowledge than I know if the Daedong engine dings/rings, or if the eMax 25 has something like this as an issue that I need to look at? Again, I understand I am asking in a vague fashion... hopefully I would have more info tomorrow... or possibly a video/recording of the sound I am talking about.
Thanks in advance...
Larry
