There is a 3-4 year old Kubota B7500 HST with a 4' bushhog, LA302 FEL, and 60" mmm. The tractor is showing 320 hours. It has been kept in a drive-in shed over these years and shows what I assume to be normal wear and tear. It runs very well from what I can tell. (Remember, I am new to all of this.) This is my first tractor purchase. Money is not falling off trees for me and I just want to make sure I am paying a fair price. They are asking $11,000. They have said it cost $17,600 all new. Based on my description and assuming the tractor and implements are sound: #1: Is the price fair?; #2: Should I have it looked over by the local Kubota dealer, sort of checking out a used car before purchasing? Any/all replies are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, I have a B7500HST and bought it new in 2003.I have a FEL,60" mowing deck and just turned 200hrs.I would'nt take 11K for mine.Mine has done everything I wanted it to. You need to ask and see if the service has been done regularly.I just got my mowing deck last year but if I known back then I would have gotten it then.I use it mostly for mowing. When you take the FEL off it's just like an oversized lawnmower. The FEL can be removed and put back on in less than 5min.Any other questions I would be glad to try to help.

Zed welcome to the forum. Pricing can be very regionally and I am not up on the B7500 pricing so I’ll leave that to those with more knowledge. It would help to know what part of the country you are in and how much acreage you will be using the tractor on.

Here are some general comments about used tractors. Tractors really hold their value well and particularly those from the major companies like Kubota. The one you are looking at has been reduced over 35% from its original selling price which I would consider very good. With only 320 hrs it is considered a low hour tractor and some would say hardly broken in. Most of the compact tractor owners on the forum seem to put 100 to 150 hrs per year on their machines. The implements included seem to say it was mostly used for mowing which is pretty easy on a tractor unless it was doing heavy brush clearing. The HST transmission is great for mowing and also a great choice for a new tractor owner to learn with. If it would give you peace of mind you can spend a $100 bucks and have it checked out. For the most part there are very few major problems that these machines would have that don’t show up in a test drive.

Good clean low hour used machines from the major manufactures are hard to find. If it is enough tractor to meet your needs you may well have found a good deal.

Good luck and let us know what you do. We just love to spend others money.:D

My opinion is to buy it. They aren't getting any cheaper and this is still a brand new machine. Make an offer if you please, but that is a decent price for a new machine. Dealers like their markups too, even on used machines.

This one comes with no sales tax too. :dancing: :tiphat:

I'd go for it based on your description. Yep, $11K is a fair price, with all considered.

Thanks to all that posted. I went ahead and bought this tractor plus implements described. I just took delivery two days ago. I have a very good feeling about this purchase. Already ran it around the pasture a few laps. I only stopped when it became apparent that the blades on the 48" Taylor-Pittsburgh bush hog need serious sharpening. I would like to purchase a second set but am having difficulty finding them online. Any suggestions?

Zed, rotary mowers, bush hogs, generally don’t have very sharp blades. They are more for shredding than cutting. If sharpened like a finish mower they will chip when cutting harder material like saplings. If you are only mowing pasture grass you can put a bit more edge to them but you will never get a cut like you do with a finish mower.

Congratulations on the new tractor. It sounded like a good deal to me.

Zed - I have a 2003 B7500 HSD-R with 60" MMM which I have been using to cut my 5 acre pasture and 2 acre meadow (was hayfield) for the past 3 years. I Pin the MMM in the transport position (about 6" cut). No problems so far, and I prefer the MMM to using a rear rotary cutter that I used for 8-9 years. If your pasture is reasonably free of brush, trees, rocks, debris - you might want to try your MMM, before investing in any more equipment. It will also give you a 12" wider cut than your existing 48" rotary cutter. Best wishes!

Take my advise I own a new B7610 and it's junk , the hydraulics are so bad on it its almost impossible to deal with. Look elsewhere for something that works properly....

and you are....??... a hit & run troll?

Please expound on your jaded tirade. I have seen you post elsewhere with this drivel yet offer no details whatsoever.

You can't just do a drive-by like that without some substance man!
Earn yourself some respect!!

(As if any one person here has given you one iota of credence)

Why did I even bother replying to this? I hate getting sucked into a drive-by.

That quote was from a bogus thread by Dusty_Dude. Early in his posts he says he has owned other Kubotas and later he says this is his first. The thread was deleted because some newbie might believe his nonsense.
